The Power of a Protein

You cannot lose weight without protein in your diet.  I would challenge anyone who has a differing opinion to post their thooughts and provide references.

Protein does 2 primary things with weight loss: 1) it causes satiety (the feeling of fullness) and 2) its metabolically expensive (see link #1).

I have seen several patients in my primary care practice and I have assisted them with all kinds of eating plans (high carbs/low protein, high protein/low carbs, etc.) and I have found that they do not lose much weight when on a low protein diet. I agree!
